About Yallourn Power Station

 

Yallourn Power Station is a key provider of electricity for Victorians, operating within a complex and safety-critical setting.

This role offers the chance to contribute to the reliability and performance of a critical piece of Victorian infrastructure.

Please note: Yallourn will stop producing electricity in June 2028 – however there could be the ongoing possibility of work with closure and rehab activities.

 

About the Role

 

We are seeking an experienced people leader for this role of Scaffolding Superintendent to lead and coordinate all scaffolding operations across Yallourn Power Station.

Reporting to our Maintenance Leader onsite, this important leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant scaffold delivery to support maintenance, shutdown, and capital works programs.

You will oversee scaffold planning and execution, workforce supervision, contractor performance, and stakeholder engagement across a large, high-risk industrial environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead all scaffolding activities in line with safety, quality, and operational requirements
  • Lead and oversee the development and execution of scaffold plans to support outages, maintenance, and project works
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and project teams to align scaffold delivery with work schedules
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian standards, site procedures, and safety regulations
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments across scaffold structures
  • Champion a culture of safety, continual improvement, and cost efficiency.

 

About You

 

You are a people leader with strong technical knowledge and a proven track record in Scaffolding within heavy industry, power generation, or similar environments.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Significant experience in scaffolding supervision within industrial or energy sectors
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and subcontractors
  • Strong understanding of OH&S legislation and risk management practices
  • Experience working in shutdown/outage environments (highly regarded)
  • Excellent planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
