Role Purpose
Joining our high trust, highly collaborative and ambitious Trading and Transition business unit, you will play a key role in driving EnergyAustralia’s transition to a cleaner energy future.
Forming part of our Portfolio Development Team, the role of the Portfolio Development Advisor (Partnering) enables all your commercial experience, market knowledge, and passion for the clean energy transition to come together to perform the commercial activities required to support large scale development projects and deliver our future energy portfolio. Essentially, you will perform the commercial activities required to deliver the future energy portfolio for EnergyAustralia. This could include projects such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Pumped Hydro Energy Storage (PHES), and Gas Fired Turbine Generation.
Key Duties & Accountabilities
- Support the origination of new projects by focusing on partnering and financial opportunities and structures
- Work closely with Development Director (Partnering) to originate and execute partnering processes (debt, equity, and government) for portfolio development projects
- Prepare materials to support EOI and RFP processes
- Co-ordinate due diligence streams in corporate finance processes
- Provide commercial support to senior Portfolio Development team members
- Specific focus on project finance structuring
- Oversight of sophisticated financial models to support business decisions $100mil - $1bil, with a specific focus on project finance to support large-scale initiatives
- Present to and influence internal and external stakeholders, whilst developing and maintaining strong networks
About You
With your relevant experience in infrastructure, energy, or resources and / or roles in banking or consulting supporting clients in these industries, you will know how critical it is to draw upon your foundational corporate finance and commercial skillset to execute effective deal structuring and development support.
In addition to these rich commercial attributes, we are seeking the following experience, skills, and qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, finance, economics, engineering, law or similar
- Proven experience in the project financing of large infrastructure, energy, or resources projects (corporate, banking, or financial advisory)
- Familiarity with sophisticated financial models to support project business decisions $100m - $1bil
- Excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative, and teamwork orientation about your working style
- Experience managing internal & external stakeholders and navigating complex processes
