Job Description
New Energy Mobilisation Lead
Business Unit:  Operations and Projects
Sourcing Location:  Victoria

About Us

Globally, energy markets are in transition to a net zero future and the entities within these markets are transforming their underlying business models to ensure that they stay relevant, sustainable and profitable. As one of Australia’s largest energy providers, we are proud of our purpose to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation.  Our ability to deliver on this purpose will be dependent on our people.

As the energy sector rapidly evolves with electrification, renewables, and sustainability at the forefront, we are delivering innovative centralised energy solutions to meet the needs of modern communities.

As part of EnergyAustralia’s commitment to leading and accelerating the clean energy transformation for all, new generation and energy storage assets are being developed to replace our aging fleet.

As such, we’re building a small team to provide an O&M lens to complement project development and delivery and drive operational readiness of these new assets through construction and commissioning..

About the role

As the New Energy Mobilisation Lead/Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and delivering EnergyAustralia’s growing new energy generation and storage portfolio.

This role ensures that Operations & Maintenance (O&M) excellence is embedded across the full lifecycle of major projects — from early concept through to execution, commercial operation, and stabilisation.

Working closely with project teams and stakeholders across the business, you’ll bring deep O&M expertise to ensure assets are safe, efficient, compliant, and fit-for-purpose, applying a whole-of-life asset management approach across greenfield and brownfield developments.

Your success will be measured by operational readiness and mobilisation outcomes for major new energy projects.

Specifically, you’ll be accountable for the following:

  • Act as a trusted O&M subject matter expert across major projects, supporting informed and balanced lifecycle decisions
  • Review project documentation to ensure O&M requirements are appropriately embedded
  • Support procurement and contracting activities by drafting O&M scopes, specifications, and schedules, reviewing tenders, and contributing to negotiations
  • Develop and implement O&M mobilisation and readiness plans covering people, plant, and process
  • Lead assigned readiness workstreams across resourcing & training, procedures & documentation, O&M infrastructure, and business systems
  • Participate in execution‑phase activities including design reviews, HAZOPs, RAM studies, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and acceptance testing
  • Support O&M standards and their integration into projects through training and capability uplift initiatives across the organisation

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related technical discipline (preferred), or a trade qualification, with extensive experience in operations and/or maintenance within heavy industrial environments
  • Experience across electricity generation or energy sector assets, or related heavy industrial operational contexts
  • Strong understanding of O&M systems, processes, and whole‑of‑life asset management
  • Working knowledge of health, safety, environmental, regulatory and compliance obligations, with practical application in operational environments
  • Demonstrated ability in technical writing and document development
  • Proven stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to navigate complex and competing priorities
