About the role
The Mechanical Fitter will join a strong maintenance team to provide quality and safe mechanical maintenance service on plant and equipment.
This is a permanent position based at Mt Piper Power Station working a four-day week (Monday–Thursday).
Key responsibilities
- Undertake routine maintenance and emergency repair of all Mechanical Plant and equipment
- Assess plant condition, initiate repairs and recommend modifications/improvements as necessary
- Mentor, coach and guide apprentices and other team members
- Follow documented procedures to ensure quality is applied to all work undertaken.
- Work with and monitor contractors when required.
- Ensure all repair activity, history, solutions, parts and hours are recorded accurately on the Work Management System
About you
- Completion of an apprenticeship with a Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or equivalent)
- Power station or related heavy industry experience
- Proven experience of following and carry out works on a Maintenance Plan as well as strong fault finding skills
- Current and valid NSW drivers and forklift licence
- Dogging, Rigging and EWP tickets
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe working practices and WHS legislation
