Talent Acquisition Leader
Business Unit:  People, Culture & Strategy
Sourcing Location:  Victoria

About Us

Globally, energy markets are in transition to a net zero future and the entities within these markets are transforming their underlying business models to ensure that they stay relevant, sustainable and profitable. As one of Australia’s largest energy providers, we are proud of our purpose to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation.  Our ability to deliver on this purpose will be dependent on our people.

As the energy sector rapidly evolves with electrification, renewables, and sustainability at the forefront, we are delivering innovative centralised energy solutions to meet the needs of modern communities.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Culture and Capability, you'll lead a highly experienced team of TA professionals and own the end-to-end hiring experience at EnergyAustralia. You'll set the vision, build team cohesion, and drive meaningful improvements across process, technology, and stakeholder experience.

TA have a great reputation across the business, the team are consistently working on enhancing the function and are looking for a leader who'll invest in them, and create an environment where they can thrive.

What you'll be focused on

Leading and energising your team - Talent Acquisition have been through a busy period, recently going live with a new ATS as well as moving to a new operating model. You'll step into a team that's ready for a fresh direction. Bringing people together, setting shared goals, and creating a culture of engagement and high performance will be your first priority. You believe in your team's potential and know how to unlock it.

Driving operational excellence - We recently implemented SuccessFactors as our ATS and there's real opportunity to optimise how we use it. You'll bring a continuous improvement mindset, using data and metrics to identify what's working, what's not, and where the biggest gains are. You will also own relationships across multiple teams to ensure systems enhancements are priorities and delivered.

Delivering a best-in-class experience from job posting through to onboarding, you'll ensure candidates and hiring managers have a seamless, positive experience. You'll streamline processes, remove friction, and leverage technology to create faster, smarter outcomes.

Embedding meaningful DE&I EnergyAustralia is a genuinely inclusive organisation. Now we're becoming more targeted, focusing our DE&I recruitment efforts where they'll have the greatest impact, whether that's gender diversity, First Nations representation, or other priority areas. You'll build and execute a TA-specific DE&I plan that moves the needle.

Partnering with the business You'll be a trusted advisor to senior leaders and executives, supporting them through complex hiring (including some senior roles yourself) and building their capability in interviewing and selection along the way.

About you

You're an experienced TA leader who's worked in a medium-to-large, complex organisation and you know what a well-run TA function looks like because you've either built one or been part of one.

  • Proven TA leadership experience — you've managed teams, developed people, and created environments where recruiters do their best work
  • A track record of improvement — you've identified gaps in process, systems, or ways of working and done something about it.
  • Strong data and analytical skills — you use metrics to tell a story and drive decisions, not just report on activity
  • A commercial mindset — you understand the broader business context, balance quality with efficiency, and make decisions with cost and value in mind
  • A focus on experience and satisfaction — you have a proven track record of improving NPS scores across candidates and hiring managers, and you know what it takes to move the dial
  • A thoughtful approach to DE&I — you go beyond good intentions and translate inclusion goals into practical recruitment strategies
  • Excellent stakeholder skills — you build trust quickly, communicate with impact, and know how to influence at all levels
