About the team
As part of the Commercial Performance function, our Product Strategy Team play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of customer centric products for our Commercial business. They own roadmaps, product life cycle from new product development to end of life and ensure all products comply with relevant consumer regulations.
About this Role
In this newly created role within our Product Strategy team, the Product Compliance Specialist will coordinate and manage regulatory requirements, ensuring our products and operations comply with relevant legislative and internal governance standards. You will work closely with a host of internal teams that form part of our end to product lifecycle, driving adoption and integration of legislative and regulatory compliance into business processes and systems.
Key accountabilities include, but are limited to the following.
- Managing regulatory obligations and control frameworks across Commercial Performance portfolios, ensuring regular reviews, iteration, and enhancement of controls governance.
- Partnering with key internal stakeholders to understand new regulations, clarify obligations, and help development and management of compliance controls.
- Embedding compliance obligations into existing team practices and procedures.
- Ensuring appropriate compliance controls are in place for new product and service offerings before implementation approval.
- Providing BAU compliance support to Product Strategy and Retail Performance where required.
About You
This position straddles the line of Product Strategy, Operations and Regulatory Compliance, with the latter being imperative. Given the evolving nature of the regulatory landscape in the energy sector combined with the complex nature of the subject matter, we are looking for someone with prior energy regulatory experience.
Things we'd love to see include:
- A solid understanding of retail energy compliance including regulations, obligations, and control management (non-negotiable).
- Experience in product management, pricing or tactical offer management viewed favourably.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders.
- Sophisticated communication skills combined with good commercial acumen, as you’ll be required to interpret complex information and subsequently provide clear directions and actions.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritise effectively, and solve ambiguous problems.
Please note this is a 12 month fixed-term contract opportunity.
