About this Role

The Regulatory Compliance Advisor is a key second‑line role responsible for providing high‑quality, day‑to‑day compliance advice and support across EAs Business Units, including Customer, Trading, Operations, and Enterprise. Reporting to the Compliance Regulatory Leader, this role ensures stakeholders understand and effectively meet their regulatory obligations in alignment with EA’s Compliance Management System (CMS) and the Three Lines of Defence (3LoD) model.

In addition, the position oversees the coordination and quality assurance of regulatory breach reports, regulator notices, and RFIs, ensuring documentation is complete, traceable, and compliant with CMS standards. The Regulatory Compliance Advisor also contributes to capability uplift, regulatory change initiatives, and the ongoing promotion of a strong, enterprise‑wide culture of compliance and integrity.

  • Obligations & Advisory - Provide second-line advice to support interpretation and application of regulatory obligations. Ensure advice is documented, consistent, and aligned to CMS guidance.
  • Regulatory Change Management - Assist in identifying and assessing regulatory change. Work with obligation owners to implement necessary updates and maintain traceable change documentation.
  • Compliance Risk & Breach Support - Identify compliance risks and assist with control gap resolution. Coordinate second-line input into breach submissions and maintain oversight of regulator notices and RFIs linked to breaches.
  • Governance, Reporting & Insights - Contribute to reporting, including compliance dashboards, breach themes, and regulatory engagement updates. Maintain records to support internal governance and assurance.
  • Education & Capability Uplift - Deliver or support compliance briefings and stakeholder engagement. Maintain tools and templates to support regulatory compliance ownership within the business.

How can be part of the Clean Energy Transition  

  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business, Risk, or a related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in a compliance, legal, risk, regulatory or audit role.
  • Professional certification in compliance (e.g., GRCI, ICA) is highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks and the CMS.
  • Experience interpreting obligations, mapping to processes, and documenting advice.
  • Familiarity with breach reporting, regulator engagement, and recordkeeping protocols.
  • Experience using compliance systems (e.g., Archer) desirable
