About Us
Globally, energy markets are in transition to a net zero future and the entities within these markets are transforming their underlying business models to ensure that they stay relevant, sustainable and profitable. As one of Australia’s largest energy providers, we are proud of our purpose to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation. Our ability to deliver on this purpose will be dependent on our people.
As the energy sector rapidly evolves with electrification, renewables, and sustainability at the forefront, we are delivering innovative centralised energy solutions to meet the needs of modern communities.
About the Role
As Culture & Capability (C&C) Lead, you will play a critical role in shaping EnergyAustralia’s culture, capability and performance to enable the delivery of our business strategy. You’ll help embed change leadership, systems thinking and cultural transformation into all C&C initiatives and ways of working, taking on accountability for the design, development and implementation of high-impact C&C interventions. Subject matter includes, but is not limited to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), which is high priority area, along with Talent Management, Performance, Development and Engagement.
Key elements of the position include:
- Owning and driving a significant program of DE&I related activities, including our WGEA roadmap.
- Support the Head of C&C with an emerging portfolio OD work, including a major culture and EVP program.
- Collaborating deeply with the P&C Partnering team and business leaders (including ELT and Board members) to ensure all initiatives are well-integrated, practical, and effective.
- Utilising data to ensure initiatives are continuously evaluated, iterated, and sustained to drive long-term impact.
- Foster a culture where leaders and employees are equipped to navigate change with confidence and resilience.
- Driving thought leadership and innovation in C&C through research, evaluation, and the application of strategies and progressive best practices in Organisational Development.
- Striving to ensure EnergyAustralia remains at the forefront of contemporary C&C, DE&I, and leadership development methodologies.
About You
This role has enterprise ownership of DEI, including WGEA targets, RAP governance, Diversity Council leadership, and presenting directly to ELT and Board, so your gravitas with senior leaders and key stakeholder groups is critical. We’re looking for someone who has led substantive DEI initiatives, is comfortable influencing senior leaders, and values rigour and depth over surface-level delivery.
Other attributes and experiences we’d love to see from you include:
- Broad inhouse P&C experience and/or relevant consulting experience (or a combination of both).
- A genuine passion and desire to embed meaningful equity and inclusion practices into organisation culture and leadership.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and influencing skills.
- Experience leading change within complex, evolving organisations.
- An ability to critically assess organisational challenges and design interventions that balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
- Prior experience using data to aid your decision making, influence outcomes and track and monitor the progress of key initiatives.
